What is SHABD? Who is SHABD? Why is SHABD?
SHABD is the annual literary and art fest held by The Editorial Board of JSS STU, Mysore. It is where you can participate in super fun literary and art events with no registration fees or age limits, and walk away with cash prizes and priceless memories!
Is there an age limit for participants?
Participants of all shapes and sizes are welcome!
Is there any registration fee?
Nope! It’s all free :)
Can I participate even if I'm not from JSSSTU?
Yes! The events are open for anyone with a zeal for literature, art, or fun!
Should I call the event head for registration?
A link to our registration forms for each event is up in the SHABD page on the website. So, you don’t need to call the event head for registration, but please feel free to reach out to them for any queries.
Who should I contact if I have doubts about the events or the registration process?
Please feel free to contact the event heads for any doubts or additional information. You will find their contact details in the Rules List.
When and how do I register for the events?
Registration forms are available in the SHABD tab of the website, and in our Instagram bio.
- Registrations for debate will be open till the maximum number of participants is reached.
- For all other events, the form will close 30 minutes before the event's commencement, after which spot registrations will begin.
- After registration, you will be added to the main SHABD WhatsApp group. Further information about the events will be provided there.
What do I do if I want to participate in two events scheduled at the same time?
Inform the event heads about the events you want to participate in and we'll try our best to make sure you can participate in both.
The event has started, can I still participate from the middle?
Please contact the event head for that event and we’ll try our best to accommodate you.
Can we join to just watch as spectators for events like Debate?
Yes! You are welcome to join the Debate room as a spectator.
Is Debate a team event?
You will have to participate as an individual. On the day of the event, you will be randomly allocated to teams.
Is there no registration required to participate in Bamboozled?
Nope, we’ll be sharing the link when those events begin through our WhatsApp Shabd group and on our social media pages.
Are there prizes?
Yes! Every event has a cash prize for the winners! Participate and get a chance to win that cha-ching.
When and where will the results of the events be declared?
The winners of all events will be announced during the valedictory event, on the evening of 22nd June 2025. We will contact all the winners prior to the valediction function.
