Sharvari S. Sosale
Saswe
Graduated, EIE
When you initially see Sharvari from a distance, she looks like she could take you out in a fight. Only when you talk to her do you realize what a soft fluffball she is. Saswe being angry is a rare occurrence but when she is, she could and will totally demolish you. A fellow Eddie is due to get kicked by her but has thus been saved from the wrath of Saswe due to the pandemic. According to this Eddie, she threatened to flatten this fellow Eddie's bottom with her kicks. *shudders*
If you’re a friend of Saswe or barely an acquaintance, expect a fresh batch of cookies or a cake delivered to you with a handwritten note on your birthday- made by the lovely Saswe. She cooks when she’s happy, she cooks when she’s stressed and she especially cooks when she’s sad. Her love for cooking has taken over her life- to a point where she started playing a cooking game every night as a stress buster from her internship (It’s called Cooking Dream for anyone who’s interested). You’d think this girl can do anything, and well, you’re sorta right. This gal went to three different driving classes and still doesn’t know how to drive a car. You’ll be able to do it someday, Saswe. Keep trying.
Saswe is able to talk to someone as if she’d known them for a lifetime - it’s truly amazing how she does that, especially to us introverted folks. This quality makes her quite the hoot during volunteering meetings for Shabd where you’ll either see her talking excitedly to people or being engrossed while making an installation. One of the fondest memories I have with Saswe was while sitting with her and helping her with Pennywise a year or two back. I hadn’t gotten the chance to have a personal conversation with her and was worried it would be awkward. Well, the next hour or so was filled with us talking about the most mundane and random things. I remember thinking, “Damn, this lady is hella fun”.
Saswe is one of those people who you can always rely on and is there for you, no matter what. She’s exceptionally talented as an artist and tries to be humble about it, but she’s extremely good. She cares deeply for everyone and will always put others first before herself - which truly shows how selfless and loving she is. It was a lovely and wholesome three years with her on the Board and I am saddened by the fact that this will be the last year of Shabd together. We will truly miss her mom-lectures, rants about our college, her speeches during meets and last but not the least - her threats to kick people, or at least, a certain someone.
P.S. Always lower your volume when you call this lady if you don’t want to lose your hearing.
P.P.S We will miss you, Board Mom :)
